Born in Brooklyn, John moved to Beaumont, Texas, at a young age, where oil refineries and alligators were the backdrop to his childhood until another move brought him to the wide beaches and farmland vistas of The Hamptons. He got his first job taking orders for a Chinese take-out at age 14. He started taking pictures around the same time.

He left school in 2005 for a job as an associate producer and has worked in production ever since. Three years and a mastery of run-and-gun video production later, it was time to get back to New York City. For next six years, John found himself at the center of a wide reaching community of arts patronage and engagement based at a midtown Manhattan hotel.

Since moving to California in February of 2015, John has worked in film, commercials, and documentaries in the Camera department first as a PA, then as a loader and 2nd AC. His most recent gig was a three month editing job with A&E editing for the reality dance competition show "Bring It!".

John lives and works in Venice, CA with his wife and their two Australian Shepherds.
